Luxury Pianos Australia was thrilled to debut the Mason and Hamlin grand piano at a recent concert event held on the Gold Coast.
Performing on the instrument for this concert were none other than Max Olding AM and Pamela Page, two of Australia's most distinguished and adored pianists. Pamela opened the event performing on the model AA Mason & Hamilin Grand Piano with a haunting performance of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata, Op 27 No.2.
Max and Pamela are known nationally and internationally for their extensive repertoire of two-piano works. At this concert they chose their own arrangement of the Sicilienne from Flute Sonata in G minor of JS Bach, and the ever popular Sonata in D K448 of Mozart and finished the performance with the up beat Jamaican Rumba by Arthur Benjamin.
Max encored with an impromptu performance of Szymonowski's etude no. 3. Commenting after his performance;
“this is an exquisite piano from America with spectacular tone, in particular through the quiet passages” Pamela then returned for a brilliant solo performance of Musorgsky's monumental Pictures at an Exhibition.
This was a memorable afternoon for all who were in attendance, and the success of it was no doubt inhanced by the beauty of the Mason and Hamlin sound.
